Hi everyone! I have a big problem. I cannot load my Map anymore...
It comes an error with "TScene.Load: TScene.Load110: Original material could not be resolved for lightmapped material."
What does this mean? And how i can fix this?

It's xmas right now and both Paul-Jan and I are not available. But I'll try to find out what's happening here tomorrow, if I can find some free time. Can you send the mapfile to my emailaddress? |

When you lightmap a scene, for every material in it, a new material is created for the combination [material, lightmap texture]. Both the original material and this new combined material are stored in the file.
Now for some reason, you have a lightmapped material in your file without the corresponding original material. This is something that should've never happened (and thus far never has occured before), so it is quite important that we find out what went wrong. Do you remember anything about the things you were doing with this map when you last used it? Removing materials, cutting out large pieces of geometry, anything?
When you send the file to either me or Jeroen, we will probably be able to fix the file manually. Furthermore, it might give us some clues as to what happened, so if you could send us the file that would be great!
Our apologies for the inconvenience this must have caused, and thanks a lot for taking the time to report this problem! |

Glad to hear this .
I tought that the lightmap is just one texture layered down (Multi-Texturing) using UV Coords or something like that... whatever...
I have send the file to Jereon to his Mailadress. I could send it to you too.

The .DMF file has been fixed and send to your e-mail address, Sindwiller.
Here is what happened:
1. You created a 2-layer material and assigned it to some primitives.
2. You lightmapped the scene.
3. You removed the second layer from the material.
4. You saved the scene without regenerating the lightmap first.
DeleD doesn't handle this situation, and the the lightmapped materials in the file get out of sync with the non-lightmapped materials. What we'll do for 1.4 is
I) Fix the bug, so DeleD always makes sure the materials are up to date before saving.
II) Make the file loading a bit more flexible, allowing you to load your map (but with some missing material information) if this problem would ever pop up it's ugly head again.
Thanks for reporting this issue! |

We're just glad we could help you out! And it isn't you who should be blushing: you did something we didn't anticipate and we failed to test it properly, so it's us who should be shaming ourselves, huddled in some dark corner. Then again, as long as we get internet access in those dark corners, no loss there |
