This is prolly a REALLY bad model. But it is only my first. I really like this gun, and I decided that someone might want to use this as a base for a more detailed model.

It isn't textured, only colored and it's very low poly. Plus, the side are flat (I plan on fixing that soon). The scope has no shape to it or anything.

Here's a screenshot:

Can any of you 3d gurus give me some tips on modelling? Maybe show me what I could have done differently with the model (There are ALOT of things i could have done differently, but please show me some techniques). I'd really like to learn from you all. Very Happy

For a first model, I think it's very good! I remember my first models, and they weren't half as good as this one. But then again, I'm not a modeller, I'm a programmer. Laughing

Ok modeling guru's, let's try to help this guy! Smile

For a first model, that looks great.
The only suggestions I can think of,
Don't use so many boxes for the stock. Use one and morph it.
For a barrel, use a cylendar instead of a box.
Use a cylendar thru the scope you have to add realism.

That's it. Smile

Thanks for the comments and tips!

I haven't quite figured out the extrude method and everything. I would have added a cylinder to the barrel and scope, but whenever I try to place one, I get a memory leak error.

At the moment, I'm working with the lightmapper. It looks really cool. Very Happy
