I've designed the carport which is to be build (for real!) behind my house. I'm going to use these pictures to apply for a permit at the local authorities. Smile The little shed with the open door already exists, it's the open carport next to it that is what it's all about.

Used techniques:
- lots of simple cubes with a simple wood texture applied to them
- CSG for the roof plates
- lightmapping to get it to look good

Known issues:
- no door: i'm lazy Wink

*heh* wicked job, Jeroen, wow! I think your chances of getting this approved are excellent. Which is especially good since the carport is about to get built anyway Wink Laughing

Well guess what... the local authorities didn't approve my application. They want me to provide simple 2D drawings on a piece of paper, how about that! Rolling Eyes

Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess...

*ouch*, bummer! Should I implement the new high-quality screenshot functionality for the 2d views as well, so you can simply print out the top view in high resolution? Wink

Did you remind them we are now in the 21st century?? Laughing
So just take a couple of screenshots in the different views, paste them into your fav. program, and print them out. complete with grid lines. Very Happy

Guess what, my application was approved after all! I had to deliver a few 2D drawings as well but they actually approved the 3D screenshots too. Smile They just printed them on a piece of paper and stamped them all with some "approved" stamp.

Oh well, this is one fine case in which DeleD proved usefull in the real world out there! Very Happy
