Irrlict should be able to handle the polies without a problem. As with AWM, I've lit one scene (for someone else) that took 2 days to lightmap in DeleD. (just to find the lights weren't in the right places) (it was a scene made in deled for a compo by someone else) _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Yes Deled doesn't support outdoor lighting, so when you light your scene it is like space (like outerspace) lighting with no atmospheric diffusion, or ambience. It's a good feature though because it gives a rough idea of what the scene will look like. I use Giles for my lightmapping, its much easier and to be honest I don't really know how Deled exports the lightmaps, since I would rather have two seperate meshes, the lightmap mesh and the regular mesh. Giles is free but I cannot figure out how to get the latest version to produce any lightmaps. The early version works fine though, and supports simulated outdoor lighting.
Also, Irrlicht should render it fine, but I don't really think a couple of rooms will make a big enough level, he might have problems when he starts to expand his level. |
