I need to rotate a few items. I have tired grouping them which "should" work, but they seem to rotate on their own axis.
The only thing I can do to get it to work is Merge, but that is a bad solution becuase I can't break them back a part to change textures or edit.
Am I missing something? I really need a solid rotate. _________________ "Do or do not. There is no try."

No. It's DeleD that is missing something. It doesn't do a rotated on the center of the selection, it does it on the center of every object, same with mirroring. _________________

Thanks Vampyre_Dark,
That is a big thing to miss. Any idea if that will be fixed in the next update? _________________ "Do or do not. There is no try."

This is not something to be fixed easily (like a bug would be, most of the time anyway). Grouping is actually extensive functionality that impacts a large part of the code so this won't be part of DeleD 1.5. The TODO list for 1.5x has yet to be determined. Seems like grouping is a candidate to be on that list. |

Why is this rotating thing being mixed in with grouping?
In every other editor you can rotate your entire selection around it's own center, it doesn't require any kind of grouping, just the data in the current selection. _________________

DeleD keeps each object with its own seperate center or rotation wheater grouped or not.
The way other editors handel it is they set up a dynamic center of rotation that you can move, even for seperate items.
Back to grouped objects, DeleD needs to create a temporary rotational axis then them move ever thing as a unit.
Thanks for getting this into the date list, it is an important issue. _________________ "Do or do not. There is no try."

This is now implemented by rotating the selection around the center of this selection. If the selection is just one object, it is rotated around its own center. If the selection contains multiple objects, they're automatically rotated around their mutual center. Available in next release! |
